Our Story

Setshabelo Family and Child Services is an organisation that began in 2014. It is a faith-based non-governmental organisation and a designated child protection organisation. It is an organisation that aims to prevent and protect children from any form of abuse, neglect and maltreatment. It also aims to redress the issue of family dysfunction that was caused by the system of Apartheid in South Africa.

Our response to these issues is to:

  • To provide support and empower families to promote, protect and enhance the safety, well-being and development of children and youth
  • To advocate for the protection of children, youth and families from all forms of abuse by creating a human rights culture in the community
  • To educate and create awareness in the community on issues detrimental to the welfare of children, youth and families
  • To establish networks and partnerships that ensure the safeguarding of children, youth and families
